Kim Couture Arrested

Kim Couture was arrested in Las Vegas as a result of a domestic dispute according to the Las Vegas Police Department. MMAWeekly was able to confirm the arrest with Barbara Morgan from the Office of Public Information.
“I can confirm that in the evening hours of May 29 we responded to a residence in the South West part of the valley reference a domestic dispute,” said Officer Morgan. “Officers arrived, determined that a battery occurred, and Kim was arrested for Domestic Violence.”

Kim Couture is the ex-wife of UFC fighter Randy Couture. Kim is a former Strikeforce fighter.

Dana White recently posted on his twitter account that he will be giving away some tix for some upcoming fights!

Nate Marquardt vs Chael Sonnen

Nate Marquardt believes he will get another shot at Anderson Silva if he beats Chael Sonnen.
“From what I understand, if I win this fight, I will get the shot,” Marquardt said.
“I wasn’t sure when I heard that statement or read it or whatever, what exactly he meant. I assume he meant if he vacated or whatever and that would be a little disappointing to me,” stated Marquardt. “I want a rematch with him and it would mean the world to me to get a rematch with him.”
As of today, I think that Nate Marquardt has the best chance against Anderson Silva. Although I don’t think he can beat Silva, I think he will put up a good fight.

Urijah Faber vs Jose Aldo

With a submission win over Raphael Assuncao, Faber will get a shot at Jose Aldo. This was confirmed by WEC General Manager Reed Harris. Faber only had good things to say about Jose Aldo.
“I’m hoping it will be fairly quick,” said Faber. “I didn’t take any injuries against Assuncao and I had a long layoff with my hands last time.”
“He’s an exciting fighter. It kind of reminds me of the Randy (Couture) and Vitor Belfort where the phenom with the hands and the crafty veteran,” commented “The California Kid.” “It’s funny that I’m the veteran at this point. I’m looking forward to a knockdown, drag-out with two exciting guys and hopefully it will happen soon.”
Reed Harris also added that Faber vs Aldo could headline the WEC‘s first pay-per-view. No date or venue has been set.

Faber knows that there is a title shot around the corner for him, but he doesn’t want to think about that right now. He has his eyes set on taking out Raphael Assuncao at WEC 46 on Sunday night.
“I don’t want to get too excited about fighting Aldo yet because I’ve got another hard-headed Brazilian to try and throw around. We’ll see how that goes. I’m expecting a great performance and hopefully have the belt by midway through 2010,” Faber told the media on a conference call on Tuesday.
In his last fight, Faber lost to Mike Brown, suffering a dislocated thumb and broken right hand.
“I’m excited to get back in there,” said Faber. “It’s been a while for me. It’s been six months and a lot of recovery and stuff for me with my hands.”

Dana White Want’s Liddell To Stop Fighting

Dana White is still not a fan of Chuck Liddell fighting again, although he will be coaching against Tito Ortiz on the eleventh season of The Ultimate Fighter.
“The thing that everyone loves about Chuck Liddell was he’s a fighter. That guy loves to fight. And when you’re walking out in that arena and 16,000 people are going crazy and yelling your name and (expletive), it’s hard to walk away from. I get it, but you know, he doesn’t have to do it anymore. He doesn’t,” said White to the media following UFC 108 on Jan. 2.
Dana White also said that although he wanted Liddell to stop fighting, he would like him to stay with the UFC.
“He’s made a lot of money and I’ll pay him more money to (expletive) not fight. He can come in and be the Director of Fun or something. I don’t know, a (expletive) job that he doesn’t have to fight,” commented the UFC president.
Although I am a fan of Chuck Liddell, and I still love to see him fight, I am not a fan of professional athletes that try and stay in the sport as long as they can. I feel that this can hurt their career image as a winner, because people will remember the fights that he lost in the end of his career more than the fights that he won.

Evans Post Fight

Rashad Evans did a great job in sticking to his game plan, and it resulted in a big win.
“It was no secret what I was going to do. I’m a wrestler and I said it time and time again before the fight that I was going to get back to my wrestling,” Evans said after his victory. “Sticking to the game plan, even though sometimes I was getting caught, getting a little tired, and I wanted to mix up and throw the hands like I wanted to do, but my corner warned me against that.”
With the win over Thiago Silva, Evans will most likely get a shot at Quinton “Rampage” Jackson on May 1st. For more UFC Figh Info

Rashad Evans

According to UFC president Dana White, Rashad Evans will most likely have to beat Thiago to get a shot at Rampage Jackson.
“I think he’s going to have to beat Thiago on Saturday to get that shot with Rampage,” UFC president Dana White said at the UFC 108 pre-fight press conference on Wednesday.
I really want to see these guys fight. After watching them coach on The Ultimate Fighter, I was very excited to see these guys go at it. I would love to see Rashad beat Rampage, because I felt like Rampage was not coaching the show for the right reasons. It seemed like he just wanted television time, and didn’t care about his fighters. So I will be cheering for Rashad to finish Thiago, so I can see these two finally slug it out in the octagon! Josh Thomson Calls Out UFC

Now that Thomson’s fight with Gilbert Melendez is over, he has turned his attention to the UFC.
“I’m tired of clicking onto websites and seeing the first thing is UFC, UFC, UFC, and I would like to see something that says Strikeforce and something positive about our fighters,” he said. “Cause I’m getting sick and tired of that.”
“When was the last time you seen a UFC fight card put together like this?” he said. “When was the last time you saw UFC fighters lay it on the line like we did tonight, and when was the last time you seen a main event like you did tonight? I haven’t seen one of those in a while from the UFC. So, I think we delivered.”
I am interested to see how Dana White will respond to this. It seems to me like Thomson is a little jealous of the UFC and what it has accomplished. For more UFC Fight Information.

Jonathan Goulet UFC 113

Jonathan Goulet will return to fight in UFC 113. UFC 113 will be held on May 1, 2010 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. This will be a home fight, since Goulet is a native of nearby Victoriaville, Quebec.
