After Brock Lesnar had surgery for an infection in his intestinal tract, he has returned home to heal and get better. Lesnar is unsure if he will need to undergo further surgery.
Lesnar sent a message to his fans through Novotny, saying, “he is getting better and contrary to some rumors that he had died, he is on the mend.”
Dana White confirmed that Lesnar did have surgery, but is unsure of his future.
Brock Lesnar’s head coach Greg Nelson said that Lesnar has a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract, but that his condition is improving.
“He should be home soon,” Nelson wrote via text message.
Lesnar was taken to a North Dakota hospital last week after he collapsed at his property in Canada. He was reportedly diagnosed with mononucleosis and an intestinal disorder.
At the UFC 105 post fight press conference, Dana White said Lesnar was very, very sick and would be out for a while. He also said that he plans to visit Lesnar and offered to send him to the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Round 1:
Vera opened up the first round with a high kick, two punch combo. Couture clinches and forces the fight to the fence. After the ref breaks them up, Couture clinches again, forcing the fight to the fence. Couture gets the takedown, but Vera stands up, taking a some knees as Couture continues to push Vera against the fence. Not A lot of action. Mostly clinching and fighting up against the fence.
Round 2:
At the start of the round, Vera pokes Couture in the eye. Couture goes for the clinch, and both fighters trade knees to the legs. After the ref breaks it up, Vera sends a high kick, and then drops Couture with a knee and then throws some punches, but Couture gets guard and locks it up.
Round 3:
No surprise, Couture throws some punches, then clinches against the fence. Couture lands some good elbows, but ref breaks it up. Vera throws big kick that lands, but again Couture clinches and lands a punch and a good knee. Vera scores a takedown against the fence. Couture and Vera trade punches until the bell. Couture, like always, was very humble in his win over Brandon Vera at UFC 105.
“It was a tough-ass fight,” the 46-year-old Couture told reporters after taking home his 17th career victory.
